Stitch holders.

There are so many different items you can use rather than expensive stitch holders. You can use small bits of colored yarn or ribbon. These have no difficulty staying on, but they do have difficulty when slipping them from one needle to the next. Even less conventional are office supplies: paper clips, rubber bands and even zip ties, curled pulled until they are very small then cut, are a treat to use.
